COPPER
I can't say that I have ever dreamt of my 'dream roof', but that has now been thrown out the window and I have hit the roof with excitement - too far? Sorry had to do it!
The architects responsible for this sculptural masterpiece are Emrys Architects, who played with the roof shape which has been tweaked upwards increasing the internal floor-to-ceiling heights and maximising the sense of drama in this renovation of two adjoining Georgian terraced town houses. Eye-catching and contemporary in shape, the folded roof is complemented by the use of material - a striking copper bronze alloy that is illuminated by the white painted brickwork of the existing building. Under the roof is a series of recessed lighting accentuating the geometric planes above - the result is a stunning linear light display that draws the eye up to this eye-catching ceiling plan.
