Having exhibited in 2012 and 2013 in Melbourne, Groupwork have produced a very special project for Milan Design Week 2014, having been invited by curator Sarah King to participate in 'The Other Hemisphere', a group who surveys contemporary design from Australia and New Zealand. Groupwork is an ongoing collaborative project where artists, makers & designers come together to consider everyday objects and moments, and this year the work was based around the theme Simplify.
The project team for 2014 included Melbourne architect Murray Barker, artist Esther Stewart and Groupwork director and interior architect Sarah Trotter - producing an exceptionally beautiful collection of bathroom accessories, rethinking and simplifying basic bathroom objects such as toilet roll holders and towel rails, toothbrush holders and shower shelves. The collection includes simplistic geometric forms that interlock and complement each other in form and materials of solid brass, oak and bluestone.
This is something I have been looking for my whole life!!!!
